Organizations Supported by the Dante’s Boys Foundation & Their Youth Impact
Since 2006, the Dante’s Boys Foundation (DBF) has proudly carried forward Dante Benedetti’s legacy: to ensure that every child has access to baseball, mentorship, and life-changing opportunities through sport.
Through the incredible support of donors, sponsors, and community partners, DBF has raised and donated over $1.2 Million Dollars, positively impacting more than 50,000 young people across the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Below is a comprehensive overview of the organizations DBF has recently supported, along with the impact each partnership brings to youth in our community.
Field & Facility Renovations
Benedetti Diamond Renovation - Preserving a Legacy & Inspiring Future Generations
The Benedetti Field Renovation stands as one of the Dante’s Boys Foundation’s most meaningful and impactful projects—honoring the legacy of legendary University of San Francisco baseball coach Dante Benedetti, whose commitment to youth, community, and the game continues to inspire generations.
Benedetti Field has been a historic home for thousands of young athletes, serving as a place where players learned discipline, teamwork, and the values Dante championed. Over time, the field required significant upgrades to remain safe, functional, and worthy of the young players and community members who rely on it.
The Dante’s Boys Foundation proudly stepped in to help fund critical renovations, which included improvements to the playing surface, dugouts, fencing, backstop, bullpens, and overall field infrastructure. These enhancements have ensured that the field remains a premier baseball environment for youth athletes, high school players, USF alumni events, and community programs.
More than a renovation, this project represents DBF’s ongoing commitment to preserving Dante’s legacy—providing a safe, high-quality space where young athletes can experience the same opportunities, mentorship, and joy that shaped so many before them.
Impact: Supports 1500+ youth and student-athletes annually, offering a first-class facility for training, games, development programs, and community baseball events that continue to carry Dante Benedetti’s spirit forward.
Gallinas Valley Little League – Field Renovation
The Gallinas Valley Little League Field Renovation represents one of the Dante’s Boys Foundation’s most community-centered investments—supporting a league that has served Marin County families for decades. As participation grew and fields aged, the league faced increasing challenges in maintaining safe, playable, and properly equipped baseball facilities for its young athletes.
DBF stepped in to help fund key field improvements, including upgrades to the playing surface, infield grading, irrigation enhancements, mound and plate repairs, and overall field safety enhancements. These renovations have dramatically improved field conditions, ensuring that players have a reliable and safe environment to learn and compete.
By supporting Gallinas Valley Little League, the Dante’s Boys Foundation helps provide opportunities for children to experience the fun, structure, and life lessons that baseball offers—while relieving financial and maintenance pressures on the volunteer-run league.
Impact: Benefits 350+ Little Leaguers annually, creating a safer and more consistent playing experience for youth athletes across T-ball, minors, majors, and juniors divisions.
More Than a Game – Community Field Renovation Project
The More Than a Game Field Renovation reflects the Dante’s Boys Foundation’s commitment to supporting programs that use baseball as a platform for something deeper—community connection, mentorship, character development, and opportunity. More Than a Game (MTAG) serves youth in underserved neighborhoods by creating environments where baseball is not just a sport, but a catalyst for personal growth and positive change.
Recognizing that high-quality facilities are essential for safe play and meaningful programming, DBF partnered with MTAG to support a major field renovation initiative. Funding helped improve the playing surface, upgrade dugouts and fencing, enhance safety features, and create a more inviting space for practices, games, clinics, and community events. These improvements ensure that young athletes have reliable access to a field that reflects the pride and care that MTAG instills in its participants.
More Than a Game blends athletic development with life skills—teaching leadership, discipline, accountability, and teamwork. The renovated field is now a central hub where youth can gather, grow, and build relationships with coaches and mentors who are deeply invested in their long-term success.
Impact: Serves 250–300 youth each year, providing a safe, high-quality home for baseball programming, mentorship workshops, and community-building events that help young people develop on the field and in life.
Equipment & Uniform Support
Flame Baseball Equipment Initiative – San Francisco, CA
The Flame Baseball Equipment Initiative, powered in partnership with Wilson Sporting Goods, is a San Francisco–based effort focused on expanding access to high-quality baseball equipment for young athletes who otherwise may not have the resources to fully participate. Flame Baseball, known for its dedication to player development and community outreach, joined forces with Wilson to create an initiative that ensures local youth have the tools they need to learn, compete, and grow in the game.
DBF’s support strengthens this partnership by helping supply new bats, gloves, helmets, catcher’s gear, training equipment, and protective gear to underserved leagues, school teams, and independent youth players throughout San Francisco. By reducing financial barriers, this initiative empowers kids to show up ready to compete with confidence—equipped with professional-grade gear trusted by athletes at every level.
Beyond equipment, the initiative also provides mentorship, skills clinics, and development opportunities led by experienced coaches and industry professionals. Flame Baseball and Wilson Sporting Goods share a passion for making baseball accessible, and DBF is proud to help expand the reach and impact of this mission across the city.
Impact: Supports 300–400 youth athletes annually across San Francisco by providing essential gear, development resources, and training support—ensuring that cost is never a barrier to stepping on the field.
Novato Little League – Equipment Initiative
The Novato Little League Equipment Initiative represents one of DBF’s most impactful contributions to ensuring safe and equitable access to baseball for young players. As one of the largest and most active youth baseball programs in Marin County, Novato Little League serves hundreds of players each year—but like many volunteer-run leagues, it faced aging equipment and growing costs that created barriers for families.
DBF stepped in to provide a critical upgrade: 30 full sets of brand-new catcher’s gear, replacing equipment that was more than 20 years old. This donation significantly improved player safety, enhanced game experience for all divisions, and removed the financial pressure on the league and participating families.
By ensuring every team—from T-ball through Majors—has modern, properly fitting protective gear, DBF is helping create a safer, more inclusive environment where all children can participate confidently, regardless of financial circumstances.
Impact: Supports 500+ players each season, providing essential safety gear, elevating the quality of play, and reducing cost barriers for families across the community.
Pleasant Hill Little League – Equipment Initiative
The Pleasant Hill Little League Equipment Initiative reflects DBF’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that young athletes have access to safe, modern, and reliable baseball gear. As participation has grown and equipment has aged, the league faced increasing pressure to provide essential gear for hundreds of players across multiple divisions.
DBF stepped in to help expand the league’s equipment inventory—funding the replacement of outdated helmets, bats, catcher’s gear, training tools, and other essential items. These upgrades significantly improved both player safety and the overall quality of play, giving coaches and teams the resources they need to create a positive, well-supported baseball experience.
By reducing financial strain on families and the volunteer-run league, DBF ensures that children of all backgrounds can participate fully and confidently throughout the season.
Impact: Reaches 450 youth athletes annually, enhancing safety, playability, and equitable access to high-quality equipment across all divisions.
Petaluma Little League – All-Star Uniform Funding
The Petaluma Little League All-Star Uniform Initiative is a direct reflection of DBF’s commitment to removing financial barriers so young athletes can fully experience the pride and excitement of postseason play. All-Star selection is a milestone achievement for youth players—but for many families, the cost of uniforms, specialty apparel, and travel gear can present a significant challenge.
To ensure that every selected player can compete without financial worry, DBF fully funded the All-Star uniform program—providing jerseys, pants, hats, socks, belts, and warm-up apparel for multiple age divisions. This contribution allows players to step onto the field with confidence and unity, representing their community with pride.
By supporting the full cost of uniforms, DBF helps level the playing field and ensures that merit—not finances—determines who gets to participate in these celebrated tournaments.
Impact: Supports 60–75 All-Star players each year, giving young athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest level of Little League play without placing a financial burden on their families.
The Mission League - Equipment Initiative
The Mission League in Pleasant Hill. CA is a growing community baseball program dedicated to providing local youth with a positive, structured, and affordable environment to learn and play the game. Elite Baseball - Equipment Initiative (Sacramento, CA)
Elite Baseball is a Sacramento-based development program committed to supporting youth athletes through high-quality baseball instruction, training opportunities, and community-focused initiatives. Through this initiative, Elite Baseball collects, purchases, and distributes new and lightly used baseball gear—including bats, gloves, helmets, catcher’s equipment, and training tools—to youth players and families throughout the Sacramento region. Their mission is simple: no child should miss out on playing baseball because they can’t afford the equipment.
DBF’s support strengthens Elite Baseball’s ability to expand outreach, increase donation capacity, and provide direct gear support to underserved leagues, schools, and independent players who need it most.
Impact: Supports 350–450 youth annually across Sacramento and surrounding communities by supplying essential baseball equipment, reducing financial barriers, and keeping more kids on the field.
